WhatsApp Cloud API Messaging for WHMCS
Send WHMCS invoices, ticket replies and login codes over WhatsApp, and turn customer replies into tickets, using Meta's own Cloud API.
What can WHMCS send over WhatsApp?
Messages for the moments customers care about: a new invoice, a payment received, a ticket reply, a suspended service, and one-time login codes. Messages can carry media such as the invoice PDF, a screenshot or a receipt, and quick-reply buttons let the customer pay the invoice, renew or answer the ticket with one tap.
How do customer replies reach my team?
When a customer replies on WhatsApp, the message is routed into a WHMCS ticket automatically. The WhatsApp thread shows inside the ticket view, so staff answer in WHMCS and the customer reads the reply on WhatsApp. The conversation stays logged in WHMCS with the rest of the customer's history.
How are templates and opt-in handled?
Meta requires approved templates for messages a business starts, and the module includes a template manager for that. You can load, edit and submit templates for approval from WHMCS admin, keep variants in several languages, and see each template's status; the module warns you before you try to send one that is not approved yet.
- Customers opt in by verifying their phone number in the client area, as Meta's policy requires
- Each event can be muted separately, so marketing can be off while invoices still arrive
- Admins see a conversation log and opt-in and opt-out reports
Because it uses Meta's first-party API, there is no Business Solution Provider such as Twilio in the middle, which usually costs less and keeps the conversation data on your own systems.
What do you need to connect it?
Requirements: WHMCS 8.13 (tested), PHP 8.1 or newer, a Meta Business account where WhatsApp Cloud is switched on, a phone number linked to it, the Cloud API token, and an HTTPS endpoint for incoming webhooks.
Limits: Meta sets the rules and prices for WhatsApp messaging, and both change from time to time, so check Meta's current pricing for your volume. Template approval is Meta's decision, and it can take anything from a few minutes to several hours.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need Twilio or another WhatsApp provider?

No. The module connects straight to the WhatsApp Cloud API that Meta runs itself. Skipping a Business Solution Provider is usually cheaper, and the conversation data stays on your own infrastructure instead of passing through a third party. All you need on Meta's side is a Business account where WhatsApp Cloud is active.

What if Meta has not approved my template yet?

Meta's review of a template is usually quick, though it can stretch to several hours. The template manager shows each template's approval status in WHMCS admin, and the module warns you before sending a template that is still pending, so customers do not end up with failed messages.

How do customers agree to receive WhatsApp messages?

They opt in by verifying their phone number from the client area, which Meta's policy requires. After that they can mute individual events, for example turning off promotions while keeping invoices and ticket replies. You can follow opt-ins and opt-outs in the admin reports.
