Everything in one click

Seven checks, one compact dashboard.

Click the icon on any site and SiteScout fires every lookup in parallel, then grades what matters.

Hosting & Server

Server header, CDN in front, HTTP version and reverse DNS — see exactly where a site is hosted.

SSL Certificate

Issuer, expiry, days remaining and every covered name, pulled live from Certificate Transparency logs (crt.sh).

DNS Records

A, AAAA, MX, NS, TXT and CAA records resolved over Cloudflare DNS-over-HTTPS.

Email Deliverability

SPF, DMARC and MX presence checked and graded A–F, so you can spot mail that will land in spam.

Security Headers

HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy, Permissions-Policy and COOP — graded at a glance.

Performance

TTFB, FCP, DOM-ready, full page load, total transfer size and request count from the browser's own timings.

Domain & WHOIS

Registrar, registration date, expiry and domain age via the official RDAP protocol.

How it works

From install to full report in seconds.

1

Add it to Chrome

Install free from the Chrome Web Store. No signup, no account, no setup.

2

Open any website

Browse to the site you want to inspect, just like normal.

3

Click the SiteScout icon

One click fires every check in parallel and starts filling the dashboard.

4

Read the report

Hosting, DNS, SSL, security, email, performance and WHOIS — each graded and expandable for detail.

Privacy first

No backend. No analytics. No tracking.

SiteScout has no server of its own. The only thing that ever leaves your browser is the domain name of the page you choose to inspect, sent to three public lookup services — Cloudflare DNS, crt.sh and RDAP. Nothing about you, your browsing or your identity is collected.

Why each permission is requested

activeTab

Reads the current page's response headers and performance timings, only when you click the icon. Access is one-time and revoked the moment you navigate away.

scripting

Injects one small function into the current tab to read those headers and timings — nothing is left behind.

storage

Remembers only whether this is your first install. No browsing data or scan results are ever stored.

Host access

Limited to exactly four URLs: cloudflare-dns.com (DNS), crt.sh (SSL), rdap.org and rdap.net (WHOIS). SiteScout never contacts any other host.

Built for people who work with websites

Whether you run a hosting business, build sites for clients, or audit them for SEO, you constantly need the same facts about a domain: where it's hosted, is the SSL healthy, are the DNS and email records right, is it secure, is it fast, and who owns it. SiteScout puts all of that one click away — no copy-pasting URLs into a dozen different online tools.

Frequently asked questions.

Is SiteScout really free?

Yes — completely free, with no account, no paid tier and no upsell.

Does it collect any of my data?

No. SiteScout has no backend, no analytics and no telemetry. The only thing sent out is the domain name of the page you inspect, to three public services (Cloudflare DNS, crt.sh and RDAP). Full details are in the privacy policy.

Will it slow down my browsing?

No. It does nothing in the background — it only runs the moment you click its toolbar icon.

Which sites can I scan?

Any public website. Open the tab you want to inspect and click the icon.

Who is SiteScout for?

Hosting providers, freelance web developers, SEOs and anyone who regularly needs the technical facts about a website.

How is it different from online checkers?

It works in one click, inside your browser, on the page you're already viewing — no pasting URLs into separate websites and waiting on each one.
