Who do I build websites for in Baramulla, Srinagar and the valley?

I build websites for businesses in Kashmir: shops and showrooms, hotels, guest houses and houseboats, tour and cab operators, schools, clinics, exporters of saffron, dry fruits and handicrafts, and local service businesses.

Most of my work is for hosting and software companies in the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe: WHMCS development, servers, SaaS products and AI integrations, listed on my services page. I have 13+ years of experience and live in Baramulla, so I take local projects too. Those have included tour and cab booking sites, online stores for jewellery, saffron and dry fruits, institute websites, and sites for event planners and NGOs.

I am one freelancer, not a website design company in Kashmir with a sales team. You talk to the person who builds the site. The trade-off is capacity: I take only a few local projects at a time.

What kind of website do you need?

That depends on the one thing a customer must be able to do on it.

Some needs go beyond a plugin, such as live seat availability or tracking travel leads. That is custom software, and I scope it like my SaaS and web application projects.

What do I build and set up for a local business?

I build the site and set up what a business needs around it to be found, contacted and paid.

• Business websites. Usually WordPress, on a theme that still receives updates. My changes go into a child theme, so an update does not erase them.
• Booking and inquiry sites. Forms that email you and store each entry in the dashboard, so a missed email is not a lost inquiry.
• Online stores. WooCommerce with Razorpay. I connect the gateway webhook, so an order is marked paid even if the customer closes the browser before returning to the shop.
• Hosting, domain and business email. Addresses such as info@yourbusiness.com, with MX, SPF and DKIM records so your mail is less likely to land in spam.
• Ongoing care. Updates, backups and small edits, described under WordPress maintenance.

What is different about a website for a Kashmir business?

Four things: how we work together, how your customers connect, how they pay and how they find you.

Meeting and language. I can meet you in Baramulla or Srinagar when that is useful, and we can work in Kashmiri, Urdu, Hindi or English.

Slow mobile connections. Expect most visitors to arrive on a phone, often on slow or unsteady mobile data. I build mobile-first: WebP images sized for the screen, lazy loading below the first screen, a page cache, and no autoplay video or heavy sliders. I test with the browser throttled to a slow connection, then on a real phone.

Payments Indian customers use. UPI first, then cards and net banking, and cash on delivery where you offer it. Razorpay asks for your business and bank documents before it activates an account. That approval is theirs, and accepting cards from buyers abroad usually needs a separate one.

Google Maps and search. I create or claim your Google Business Profile in your own Google account and fill in the category, address or service area, hours, phone number, photos and website link. Google verifies the business and chooses the method. The website carries the same name, address and phone number, plus LocalBusiness structured data, and I submit its sitemap in Google Search Console. That makes the business eligible to appear on Maps. It does not decide where.

How does a local project run, and what do I receive at the end?

It starts with a free conversation and a written quote, moves to a staging link you can open on your phone, and ends with training and handover. The method is the one described on how I work. You receive:

• The domain registrar login, with the domain registered in your name.
• The hosting panel login, the business email passwords and an administrator account on the website.
• Ownership of the Google Business Profile and the Search Console property.
• The payment gateway account, opened in your business name from the start.

How much does a website cost in Kashmir?

I quote a fixed price in rupees after the first conversation, so there is no price list on this page. The price follows the number of pages and the features. A site of a few pages costs less than a store with payments, and a store costs less than a custom booking system. International work is quoted differently, at $55 to $65 per hour or a fixed price per scope.

Plan for running costs too: yearly domain renewal and hosting, any paid theme or plugin license, and the gateway's fee on each online payment. You pay those to the providers. Tell me about the business and I will say what I think it needs, including when a simpler site is enough.

How do you choose the best web developer in Kashmir?

Ask these five questions before you pay anyone an advance. Nobody can prove they are the best web developer in Kashmir, and I will not claim it. These answers you can check.

• Who owns the domain and hosting? A domain registered in the designer's account is under the designer's control, whatever the invoice says. My answer: both are registered in your name.
• Will I get the logins? Ask for registrar, hosting, website administrator and Google access. My answer: all of them, in writing, at handover.
• Is the site mobile-first? Open the designer's earlier work on your own phone, on mobile data. My answer: you test the staging link on your phone before launch.
• Who updates it? If every text change needs a paid request, costs add up. My answer: I train you to change text, photos and prices, and I handle larger changes.
• What happens if I stop paying? Some monthly-plan websites disappear when the plan ends. My answer: your site stays online while you renew hosting and domain. Only my updates and backups stop.

What will I not do?

I turn down work that would mislead your customers or put your business at risk.

• I do not promise first place on Google or any fixed position.
• I do not write or buy fake reviews, on Google or on your site.
• I do not copy another business's design, text or photos.
• I do not build websites for gambling or for businesses that depend on deceiving customers.
• I do not install pirated themes or plugins.
