LaravelSanctumREST APIOpenAPI

About this package

This package builds a documented REST API in Laravel for a React or Next.js frontend, a Flutter or React Native mobile app, or partners who need to read and write your data. I design endpoints around the resources your clients actually request, return consistent JSON through API resources, and keep validation errors in one predictable shape, so the frontend team writes one error handler instead of twenty.

Design choices that save trouble later

Authentication uses Sanctum tokens, or Passport on Premium where a third party needs OAuth. On Business and Premium, routes are rate limited per user and grouped under /v1, because an app already installed on phones cannot be forced to update the day an endpoint changes. List endpoints paginate and accept filters, so a phone never downloads ten thousand records at once.

  • Each endpoint checks permissions with a policy, not only whether the token is valid.
  • Slow work such as PDF generation or emails moves to queued jobs on Premium.
  • Outgoing webhooks on Premium notify partner systems when a record changes.

How you know it works

Starter ships with a Postman collection. Business and Premium add OpenAPI documentation and a feature test for every endpoint that checks the happy path, a validation failure and an unauthorized request. The acceptance check is simple: your frontend developer can call every endpoint from the documentation alone, and the test suite passes on a clean checkout. Premium also includes a load test against staging so you see response times before real users arrive.

Not included

The mobile app or frontend itself, hosting fees and any paid third-party API are outside this package. The code goes into a repository you own.

What I need from you

After you pay, a project opens for your order. Send these there and the delivery clock starts.

  • What will call the API (web app, mobile app, partner) and who builds it
  • Your data: an existing database, a schema sketch or a list of resources
  • Which actions each type of user may perform
  • Repository access, or permission to create one in your account
  • Any third-party systems the API must notify or read from

I have built websites, WHMCS modules and web apps for clients since before AI coding tools existed. Today I build with AI-assisted tools and review every change myself, which is why fixed prices here are lower than an agency's for the same scope. I work while the US, Canada and Australia sleep, so each morning there is progress on your staging link.

Questions about this package

Can you build the API on top of my existing database?

Yes. I map Eloquent models onto your current tables, including odd column names and legacy keys, so the data stays where it is. If a table blocks something the API needs, such as a missing index or a column holding several values, I explain the change and add it as a migration.

Will it work with a Flutter or React Native app?

Yes. The API returns plain JSON over HTTPS and uses bearer tokens, which every mobile framework supports. The OpenAPI file on Business and Premium lets your mobile developer generate a client, and the versioned routes mean old app builds keep working after you release a new one.

What happens when I need to change an endpoint after launch?

Additive changes, such as a new field, go into the current version without breaking anything. A breaking change goes into /v2 while /v1 keeps running for older app builds, and you decide when to retire it. That routing is set up from the start on Business and Premium.

How ordering a package works

  1. 1

    Choose a plan

Pick Starter, Business or Premium and pay once by card, PayPal or crypto. The price on the page is the price.

  2. 2

    Send your content

A project opens for your order. Send your text, logo, photos and any logins I need there.

  3. 3

    I build it

I build on a private staging link you can open on your phone, with updates as I go.

  4. 4

    Launch and handover

After your approval the site goes live on your domain, and every login is yours.

One-time price, no monthly fee from me

You pay for the build once. Your domain and hosting are registered in your name and renewed with your hosting provider, who bills you directly. I add nothing on top, and the site keeps running whether or not you hire me again.

What I do not build

Gambling and adult websites, and sites that sell content without the rights to it. Need something not listed? Ask for a custom quote.
