What I built

SRJ: International Journal of Scientific Research is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal that publishes research across the sciences, engineering, medicine and the social sciences. I built its publishing platform in Laravel.

Editors manage articles and issues, each paper has an abstract page that is free to read and carries its DOI, and authors send manuscripts through a submission workflow instead of by email.

The challenge

Handle submissions and published articles in one system for a small editorial team.

How I solved it

Article and issue management for editors.
Open-access abstract pages with DOI details.
A manuscript submission workflow for authors.
Article search with journal and article-type filters.
Article tracking for authors, print copy orders and conference proceedings.

The outcome

The journal is live at journalsrj.com and publishes under ISSN (Online) 3139-8758.
