hosttech Domain Reselling Registrar Module for WHMCS
Sell domains through hosttech's reseller API from WHMCS, with glue records, auth codes, daily expiry sync and prices that follow your costs.
What does the hosttech registrar module do?
It connects WHMCS to a hosttech domain reselling account so domains are registered, transferred and renewed automatically once they are paid. The standard WHMCS domain tools work through it: nameservers, transfer lock, auth codes, owner and admin contacts, glue records and delete requests. It also acts as the WHMCS Lookup Provider for domain search and imports your purchase prices through the Registrar TLD Sync.
The part most registrar modules leave out is pricing. With the daily price sync turned on, the WHMCS cron recalculates the sale price of every extension you register through this module: purchase price plus your percentage margin, plus a fixed amount per year, plus VAT, rounded to x.99, x.90 or whole euros. A preview link shows the new prices next to the old ones before you apply them, and every applied run is written to the activity log.
What is included?
| Area | What the module handles |
|---|---|
| Orders | Registration, transfer and renewal, for 1 up to 10 years where you allow it |
| Domain controls | Nameservers, transfer lock, auth codes and delete requests |
| Contacts | Owner and admin contacts, with an optional tech and billing handle of your own |
| Glue records | Register, change and delete child nameservers |
| Search | Domain availability as the WHMCS Lookup Provider, 32 names per call, with IDN support |
| Sync | Daily expiry sync and transfer status, with the reason when a transfer fails |
| Prices | Purchase price import and an optional daily sale price sync with your margin |
| Testing | A switch to the OT&E test system, with no real registrations and no cost |
A few details handle registry quirks. Contacts are never edited in place, because one handle can belong to several domains; a change creates a new handle, or reuses an identical one, and assigns it to the domain. Auth codes for .de, .eu and .no are requested through the right command, and .be codes are sent by the registry to the owner. You can keep a domain's existing contacts on transfer, which suits .de, and choose whether the registrar or only WHMCS renews new domains.
Who is it for?
Hosting companies in German-speaking markets that buy domains through hosttech and bill in euros. If you have been setting domain prices by hand and finding out months later that a renewal costs you more than you charge, the daily price sync closes that gap.
What do you need, and what are the limits?
Requirements: WHMCS 8 or 9, PHP 8.1 to 8.5 with cURL, and a hosttech domain reselling account with an API user. The connection is checked when you save the settings.
Limits: the settings screen and error messages are in German. The daily price sync only runs when your WHMCS default currency is EUR, and it only touches extensions set to register through this module; purchase prices in USD are converted at the registrar's own rate. The module does not manage DNS records, email forwarding or ID protection. Premium names count as unavailable unless premium domains are enabled in WHMCS.
It costs $129 once for a lifetime license with twelve months of updates and support, an instant download and license key, and a seven-day refund window.

Frequently asked questions
How does the daily price sync work out my prices?

It takes the purchase price for each extension, adds your percentage margin and a fixed amount per year, adds VAT at the rate you set, then rounds to x.99, x.90 or whole euros. It runs with the daily WHMCS cron, or by hand from the preview and apply links in the registrar settings. Only extensions set to register through this module are changed.

Is the admin side in English?

No. The settings labels, price preview and error messages are in German, because I built it for a German-speaking host. The standard WHMCS domain pages your customers use stay in whatever language your WHMCS shows.

Can I test it without registering real domains?

Yes. Tick the OT&E test system setting and every call goes to the hosttech test gateway, with no real registrations and no charges. Untick it when you are ready to go live.
