Security Hardening and Recovery Module for WHMCS

Hardens WHMCS logins and sessions, blocks exploit attempts, isolates third-party addons and keeps backups ready to roll back.

WHMCS 8.13 tested PHP 8.1+

What does the security module protect WHMCS from?

It covers the usual ways into a billing system: weak admin logins, exploitable code in third-party addons and themes, and malicious files placed on the server. WHMCS holds client details and payment records, which makes it worth attacking, and every addon or theme you install widens the code an attacker can probe beyond WHMCS's own.

The module looks for vulnerability exploits as they happen and blocks them. It hardens authentication, enforces two-factor login, protects admin sessions, and logs admin activity with alerts so you know who did what.

What happens when a threat is detected?

The request is blocked, affected files go into quarantine, your administrators get an alert, and the full details are logged for review. If something was already changed before you noticed, the automatic secure backups let you roll back with one click.

LayerWhat the module does
Harden2FA enforcement, stronger authentication, session protection
DetectReal-time exploit blocking, scheduled malware scans
ContainSandboxing for third-party addons and themes, file quarantine
RecoverSecure automatic backups, one-click rollback, malware removal
AuditAdmin activity log, alerts, threat dashboard

Will it slow down WHMCS or clash with my theme?

It is designed not to. Most checks run asynchronously in the background, so page loads are not held up while scans happen. It runs alongside the widely used WHMCS themes and adds sandboxing aimed specifically at third-party themes and addons, which is where many compatibility worries come from. Hardening is applied without taking WHMCS offline.

What does the install require?

Requirements: WHMCS 8.13 (tested) and PHP 8.1 or newer. Installation means uploading the module, running its database script, entering API keys in the module settings and switching on a protection profile.

Limits: the module lowers your risk; it cannot make WHMCS immune to attack. It does not replace server firewall rules, prompt WHMCS updates, or a backup copy kept away from the same server.

The license is $79 once, lifetime, with a year of updates and support. Renewing support after that is $99 a year and optional.

Frequently asked questions

Does the security module make WHMCS slower?

<p>The performance impact is small. Most of its checks run asynchronously in the background rather than while a page is loading, so customers and admins should not notice a difference in day-to-day use. Scheduled scans can be set for quieter hours if you prefer to keep them away from busy periods.</p>

Can I keep using a third-party WHMCS theme?

<p>Yes. The module is built to run alongside the widely used WHMCS themes, and it has sandboxing features aimed specifically at third-party themes and addons. That isolation is the point: code you did not write gets less room to cause harm if it turns out to contain a flaw.</p>

How do I recover if files were already changed?

<p>The module takes secure backups automatically, and you can roll back to one with a single click. Suspicious files are moved into quarantine, the malware scanner can remove infections it finds, and the admin activity log helps you work out what changed and when it happened.</p>
