Telegram Support and Billing Bot for WHMCS

Customers check invoices, tickets and services and pay from Telegram, while your staff get alerts and answer tickets on their phones.

WHMCS 8.13 tested PHP 8.1+

What can customers do through the Telegram bot?

They can see their invoices, services, tickets and domains, ask for a renewal and pay, all from a Telegram chat. A customer links their account once with a one-time code from the WHMCS client area, and the bot then answers in the language set on their WHMCS profile. Invoices and ticket replies arrive formatted, and inline buttons let them pay without leaving Telegram.

What does it do for admins?

Staff get push alerts for new orders, ticket replies, payments and overdue services, and can act on them from the same chat. Alerts can be routed to different groups, for example sales to one and abuse reports to another.

WhoCommands
Customers/pay, /invoices, /renew, /services, /domain, /tickets
Admins/search, /assign, /reply, /suspend, /unsuspend

Admins can also send broadcasts filtered by language, product or group. The bot applies rate limiting and flood control, which keeps broadcasts inside Telegram's API limits.

Do I need a separate server for the bot?

No. The bot is plain PHP loaded by WHMCS through its hook system, so there is no Node.js or Python process to host. It works through webhooks, or through long polling if your WHMCS server sits behind a cPanel firewall or has no HTTPS.

What do you need to set it up?

Requirements: WHMCS 8.13 (tested), PHP 8.1 or newer, a bot token from Telegram's BotFather, and either an HTTPS address that Telegram can call or the long-polling mode. Setup is creating the bot, pasting the token and running the webhook setup command.

Limits: the bot is an extra channel, not a replacement. Customers who do not use Telegram keep receiving email exactly as before, and nobody is contacted on Telegram until they link their account. In the client area, each customer chooses which events they want to hear about.

Frequently asked questions

Is a separate Node.js or Python server required?

<p>No. The bot is written in PHP and plugs into WHMCS hooks, so it runs where WHMCS already runs, with no extra process and no extra hosting. If your server cannot accept webhooks over HTTPS, switch it to long-poll mode, which also works behind cPanel firewalls.</p>

Can I message all my customers at once?

<p>Yes. Admins can write a broadcast and target it by language, by product or by group. Sending is rate limited so the bot stays within Telegram's API limits. Only customers who have linked their Telegram account to WHMCS receive these messages.</p>

What about customers who do not use Telegram?

<p>Nothing changes for them. WHMCS email notifications keep working as before, and the bot only adds a channel for those who choose to link it. Customers who do link can pick which events they want on Telegram from their notification preferences in the client area.</p>
