Laravel Stripe Billing

This package adds Stripe billing to your Laravel app with Laravel Cashier: a monthly plan, a discounted yearly plan, add-ons or single purchases, with access in your app switching on and off as payments succeed or fail. It fits a product that is ready to charge and needs billing that behaves correctly when nobody is watching.

Why webhooks matter most

Checkout is the easy part. Billing breaks quietly in the webhooks: a renewal fails at 3 a.m., a card expires, a customer cancels from an emailed link. I verify every webhook signature and record each event ID, so a retried event is processed only once. A renewal, a failed payment or a cancellation then updates access in your app even if the customer never returns to the site.

From one plan to metered billing

• Starter: one plan or one product through Stripe Checkout, with access granted on payment.
• Business: up to four plans, monthly and yearly, trials, coupons, upgrades and downgrades with proration, failed payment emails, and the Stripe Customer Portal so customers change cards and download invoices without emailing you.
• Premium: per-seat or usage-based pricing, add-ons, Stripe Tax, grace periods and dunning rules, plus a revenue view for admins.

Testing and handover

Everything runs in Stripe test mode first. I walk through the scenarios on the acceptance list with test cards (successful payment, declined card, 3D Secure, cancellation, plan change) and you repeat them before the live keys go in. The Stripe account and its payouts stay in your company's name; I never hold your secret keys after handover.

Stripe's processing fees and Stripe Tax charges are billed by Stripe. Which taxes you owe and where you are registered is a question for your accountant; I configure what they tell you.
