About this package

This package reviews the source code of a PHP or Laravel application for security flaws only: injection, missing authorization, mass assignment, unsafe uploads and leaked secrets, with a report that points to the file and line, explains the fix and includes a retest. It is for founders and agencies who inherited a codebase, or are about to sell access to it, and need to know what an attacker would find.

What a security read of Laravel looks like

  • whereRaw, DB::raw and orderBy calls fed by request input, and plain PDO queries built by string joining.
  • Controllers that load a model through route binding but never check it belongs to the user; missing policies and gates.
  • Models with an empty $guarded, so a request can set is_admin or a tenant ID.
  • Blade's unescaped output tags, CSRF exceptions added for convenience, and APP_DEBUG left on.
  • Uploads stored in public with the client's file name, and keys sitting in .env files committed to Git history.

Dependencies are checked with composer audit on every plan. Business runs Psalm taint analysis and triages the results, so you see real paths from input to sink, not hundreds of warnings. Premium reads queues, jobs, webhooks and signed URLs, checks tenant isolation, and sends a pull request fixing the high-severity findings.

How this differs from a general code review

My Laravel bug fixing and code review package looks at bugs, speed and structure, with security as one section. This one spends all the time on security and maps findings to OWASP ASVS, which helps when a customer sends a security questionnaire.

Access you give, and what stays private

Read access to the repository is enough; production databases and live .env files are never needed. You confirm in writing that you own the code or have the right to have it reviewed. The code is not copied anywhere beyond what the review needs, the report goes only to you, and I sign an NDA on request.

I have built websites, WHMCS modules and web apps for clients since before AI coding tools existed. Today I build with AI-assisted tools and review every change myself, which is why fixed prices here are lower than an agency's for the same scope. I work while the US, Canada and Australia sleep, so each morning there is progress on your staging link.

Questions about this package

Do you need access to our production database?

No. The review works from source code and, where useful, a local copy running on seed data. Production databases, live .env files and customer records are not needed. If a finding depends on a production setting, I ask you to check that one value rather than asking for access.

Does the review cover our Vue or React frontend?

It covers the parts that talk to Laravel: Inertia props that leak data, Livewire public properties a user can change, and API calls the frontend makes. Frontend-only issues, such as a library with a known flaw, are listed when I see them. A full single-page app review is a separate scope.

Does it work for plain PHP without a framework?

Yes. The same checks apply, with more attention to how queries are built, how sessions and passwords are handled, and how includes are resolved, because a framework is not doing that work for you. Older PHP versions are noted, since an unsupported version is a finding in itself.

How ordering a package works

  1. 1

    Choose a plan

Pick Starter, Business or Premium and pay once by card, PayPal or crypto. The price on the page is the price.

  2. 2

    Send your content

A project opens for your order. Send your text, logo, photos and any logins I need there.

  3. 3

    I build it

I build on a private staging link you can open on your phone, with updates as I go.

  4. 4

    Launch and handover

After your approval the site goes live on your domain, and every login is yours.

One-time price, no monthly fee from me

You pay for the build once. Your domain and hosting are registered in your name and renewed with your hosting provider, who bills you directly. I add nothing on top, and the site keeps running whether or not you hire me again.

What I do not build

Gambling and adult websites, and sites that sell content without the rights to it. Need something not listed? Ask for a custom quote.
