About this package

This package reviews the source code of custom or third-party WHMCS addons, hooks and gateway modules for SQL injection, broken access checks, unsafe file handling and exposed API credentials, and gives you a report with code-level fixes and a retest. It is for hosting companies whose billing system runs code that nobody has read since the developer who wrote it moved on.

What I read for

  • Database calls built from request values instead of Capsule's query builder with bound parameters.
  • Addon output pages and client area actions that never check the admin's role or that the service belongs to the logged-in client.
  • Hooks that trust the values passed in, and AJAX endpoints reachable without a session.
  • Upload and download handlers open to path traversal or that store files inside the web root.
  • Gateway secrets, registrar passwords and API keys hard-coded, written to the module log or stored unencrypted.
  • Smarty output that is not escaped, and admin forms without a CSRF token.

Where this sits next to other WHMCS work

The WHMCS Security Audit and Hardening package checks your install's settings, folders and admin accounts. This one reads code, line by line. If you need the install itself audited, or recovery after a hack, see the WHMCS security audit service. Premium confirms each finding on a staging WHMCS install, never on your live client data, and includes patched code for every in-scope finding.

Honest limits

ionCube-encoded files cannot be reviewed; only readable source can. For a module you bought, check that its license allows a review; findings in vendor code are reported to you, and with your permission I write them up for the vendor so the fix reaches every customer. The review needs your signed go-ahead covering the code and any staging system, the code is used only for this job, and I sign an NDA on request.

I have built websites, WHMCS modules and web apps for clients since before AI coding tools existed. Today I build with AI-assisted tools and review every change myself, which is why fixed prices here are lower than an agency's for the same scope. I work while the US, Canada and Australia sleep, so each morning there is progress on your staging link.

Questions about this package

Can you review ionCube-encoded modules?

No. Encoded files cannot be read, and decoding them would break most vendor licenses. I can still review the readable parts, such as templates, hooks and language files, and tell you which encoded files sit in the request path. For the rest, ask the vendor for a security statement or unencoded source under NDA.

Will you rewrite the module if it is badly written?

Not in this package. Fixes come as patches to the existing code, so behavior stays the same apart from the security change. If the report shows the module is not worth patching, I say so, and a rebuild is quoted as custom WHMCS module work.

Do you need access to my live WHMCS?

No. The review works from source code, and Premium confirms findings on a staging copy filled with test clients. If you have no staging install, I can set one up on your server as separate work. Live client records are never needed and never copied.

How ordering a package works

  1. 1

    Choose a plan

Pick Starter, Business or Premium and pay once by card, PayPal or crypto. The price on the page is the price.

  2. 2

    Send your content

A project opens for your order. Send your text, logo, photos and any logins I need there.

  3. 3

    I build it

I build on a private staging link you can open on your phone, with updates as I go.

  4. 4

    Launch and handover

After your approval the site goes live on your domain, and every login is yours.

One-time price, no monthly fee from me

You pay for the build once. Your domain and hosting are registered in your name and renewed with your hosting provider, who bills you directly. I add nothing on top, and the site keeps running whether or not you hire me again.

What I do not build

Gambling and adult websites, and sites that sell content without the rights to it. Need something not listed? Ask for a custom quote.
