Cab and Taxi Booking Website

This package builds an online booking website for a local taxi firm, airport transfer service or tour cab operator, where customers enter pickup and drop-off, see the fare before confirming, and you assign a driver from the admin. It suits operators who still take most bookings by phone and want them written down, priced and paid in advance.

How the fare is calculated

On Starter, customers choose from a list of fixed-price routes, such as airport to city center, plus a vehicle type, and the booking is emailed to you and to them. From Business, pickup and drop-off use Google Places autocomplete, and the fare is built from the Google Maps driving distance, a base charge, a rate per mile or kilometer for the vehicle type, and any airport or night surcharge. Fixed routes still override the calculation where you have agreed prices.

Dispatch, drivers and corporate clients

• Business: each booking appears in an admin list where you assign a driver; the confirmation shows the driver's name and vehicle, and return trips book in the same form.
• Premium: drivers log in on their phones to see assigned jobs, status updates go out by email or SMS, and corporate clients get accounts billed by monthly invoice.
• Discount codes on Premium cover promotions such as a first-ride offer.

Limits and running costs

This is a booking and dispatch site, not a ride-hailing app with live tracking; GPS tracking of drivers is a separate mobile app project. Google Maps charges for Places and distance requests above its monthly free credit, and SMS costs go to your SMS provider. Flight tracking for airport pickups can be added where you subscribe to a flight data API. Taxi licensing, insurance and any rules your city sets for prebooked fares remain with you.
