Kohwan

Kohwan is a ski and adventure travel company in Gulmarg, Kashmir. It sells ski packages and lessons on Gulmarg's slopes, tours across Kashmir and Ladakh, hotel stays, cars and activities. I designed and developed the whole website, from the layout to the Laravel application behind it.

The ski side works the way skiers plan a trip. The ski school lists courses from a first lesson to private coaching and a kids' programme, lift passes include the Kongdori day pass and the Phase 2 pass, and ski and snowboard sets, boots and clothing can be rented with the booking. In season, from 1 December to 31 March, the team reports the gondola status each morning, and a live panel shows the Gulmarg weather.

A visitor picks a destination, dates, guests and rooms, then adds what the trip needs: lodging, activities, lessons, rentals and transfers. A trip can be booked and paid for online with instant confirmation, or reserved and settled with the team later. A Design My Trip builder takes custom requests, travelers can sign in to an account, and the team answers on WhatsApp and chat.

What a ski website needs, from building this one: lessons, lift passes and rentals sold as add-ons to a stay instead of separate shops; season dates and the daily lift or gondola status kept up to date by the operator's team, not by a developer; the resort's weather on the page; and a reserve option for groups that want to talk before they pay.
