Client Transfer and Merge Module for WHMCS

Move a client with their services, invoices and tickets to another WHMCS installation, or merge duplicate accounts, with data checks and rollback.

WHMCS 8.13 PHP 8.1+

What does the client transfer module do?

Moving a customer between WHMCS installations by hand means rebuilding the profile, every service, years of invoices and the ticket history, and keeping all the links between them intact. A raw database export is quicker but easy to get wrong, and the mistakes tend to surface weeks later when a renewal invoice points at the wrong service. This module treats the client as one unit: the profile and account details, their products and services, their invoices and payments, and their support tickets move together.

It also works inside a single installation. When the same customer has signed up twice with different email addresses, you can merge the two accounts so billing and support history sit in one place.

What is included?

OperationWhat it covers
Client transferProfile and account details moved to another WHMCS installation
ServicesProducts and services carried across with the client
Billing historyInvoices and payments kept attached to the client
TicketsSupport history moved so your team keeps the context
MergeTwo accounts belonging to the same customer combined into one
ChecksData validated during the move, with rollback if the result is wrong

Who should use it?

It is for hosting companies and resellers that buy another provider's customer base, run several brands and want them in one WHMCS, move a single client between installations on request, or keep finding the same customer under two logins. In each case the alternative is hours of copying by hand or a database job that puts invoice history at risk.

How should a transfer be run?

Take a full backup of every WHMCS installation involved, then install the module and activate the license key. Choose whether you are transferring a client or merging two accounts, select the client and review what will move. Run it, then check the destination account: services, invoice history and tickets. If something looks wrong, roll the transfer back and try again. I suggest moving a few test clients before any larger batch.

What do you need, and what are the limits?

Requirements: WHMCS 8.13 and PHP 8.1 or newer. For transfers between installations, keep both on supported WHMCS versions so their data structures match.

Limits: the module moves WHMCS records only. Website files, mailboxes and databases on your hosting servers are a separate job; for cPanel accounts, my Self-Service cPanel Transfer Wizard covers that part. Plan larger moves for a quiet period and tell affected customers which client area to use afterward.

It costs $99 once for a lifetime license with twelve months of updates and support, an instant download and license key, and a seven-day refund window.

Frequently asked questions

Can I move one client from one WHMCS installation to another?

<p>Yes. The module transfers the client together with their products and services, invoices and payments, and support tickets, so the account arrives complete on the other installation instead of as a bare profile.</p>

Does it move website files and email accounts too?

<p>No. It moves WHMCS records only. Files, mailboxes and databases on your hosting servers need a server-level migration; for cPanel accounts, my Self-Service cPanel Transfer Wizard handles that part.</p>

What if a transfer goes wrong?

<p>The module checks the data while it moves it and includes a rollback, so a transfer that does not look right can be reversed and run again. Take a full backup of both installations before you start anyway, and try a few test clients first.</p>
