What does the Cosmotown registrar module do?
It lets WHMCS sell and manage domains through your Cosmotown reseller account. Registrations, transfers and renewals go to Cosmotown when invoices are paid, and the usual domain tools in the admin and client areas (nameservers, contact details, registrar lock, ID protection, EPP codes and DNS records) talk to Cosmotown directly.
Version 3.0.0 is a rebuild against the WHMCS sample registrar module. The main reason was that Cosmotown registers domains asynchronously. After a registration request, the module waits a few seconds for it to complete, then applies the customer's nameservers, contacts and ID protection. If Cosmotown is still processing, that setup is stored and the WHMCS daily domain sync applies it later, or you press Apply Pending Setup on the domain page. A paid registration is never reported to WHMCS as failed just because a follow-up step failed, so the same domain is not registered twice.

It suits shops that have been registering by hand in the Cosmotown dashboard, and anyone on an earlier version of this module, where contact details could not be loaded and saving DNS could turn PTR records into TXT records. What do you need, and what are the limits?
Requirements: WHMCS 8.x or 9.x, PHP 8.1 to 8.5 with the cURL extension, a Cosmotown reseller account with an API token, and your WHMCS server's IP address allowed in the Cosmotown reseller settings. No extra libraries are bundled.
Limits: customers can edit A, AAAA, CNAME, MX and TXT records; other types Cosmotown does not accept are skipped and logged. With Auto-switch DNS on, saving records points the domain at Cosmotown's nameservers so the records take effect. The module does not offer email forwarding or glue record management, and premium or reserved names are shown as unavailable rather than sold at premium prices.

What happens if Cosmotown is still processing a new registration?
<p>The module waits a few seconds for the registration to complete. If it is still processing, the nameservers, contacts and ID protection are saved as a pending setup and the WHMCS daily domain sync applies them once the domain exists. You can also apply them straight away with the Apply Pending Setup button on the domain's admin page.</p>
Can I test it before selling real domains?
<p>Yes. Tick Sandbox Mode and enter a sandbox API token, and every call goes to the Cosmotown sandbox. The Test Connection button makes a real authenticated request, so a wrong token shows up as a failure instead of a false success.</p>
Which DNS records can customers edit?
<p>A, AAAA, CNAME, MX and TXT records, from the normal WHMCS DNS management page. Existing PTR records and TTLs are kept when records are saved. With Auto-switch DNS on, the domain is pointed at ns1 and ns2.cosmotown.com so the records take effect.</p>
