Service Upgrade and Migration Addon for WHMCS

Move customers from old services to new ones in bulk: invite them, start the new service free or paid, keep their login, then tidy up.

WHMCS 8.x (confirmed at purchase) PHP 7.4+

What does the Service Upgrade addon do?

It runs a move from old services to new ones across your whole customer base, for example when you switch to a new panel or server and every customer needs a fresh account there. Each current service gets one offer: the product that replaces it, its price, and whether it starts free. A current service is one that is active, billed on a recurring cycle and registered before a cut-off date you set. Free trials and one-time services are left out, and a product map decides which new product replaces each old one.

Customers see a notice bar in the client area and a panel on their homepage, plus an email if you send one. They press one button. A free offer starts at once; a paid one raises an invoice and starts as soon as that invoice is paid. Starting means the addon places a $0 order for the new product, creates the account through the product's server module, emails the login and, by default, closes the old service in WHMCS. The old server is never contacted.

Who gets the new service free?

You decide. By default, customers who are paid up get it free until the date they already paid for, capped at one billing period, as long as nothing on the service is overdue. The renewal invoice WHMCS raises ahead of the due date is not held against them. Everyone else pays the first period by invoice. You can also make the offer free for everyone or nobody, give a full free period, or switch single customers between free and paid. Afterwards they pay their current price when the billing cycle matches, or the new plan's price.

Do customers keep their login?

Where the server allows it. With a server module that reports what the panel permits, the addon asks first, then tries the old username and password, then the old username alone, then a new login. If a request times out it stops instead of risking a second account. With other server modules, it puts the old login on the new service before WHMCS runs its normal account creation. The login email has its own template you can edit.

Who is it for?

Hosting and streaming businesses moving every customer to a new system at once, who would otherwise face hundreds of tickets, manual orders and double charges.

What do you need, and what are the limits?

Requirements: WHMCS 8.x (confirmed at purchase), PHP 7.4 or newer, the WHMCS cron running so queued emails go out, and the new products set up with their server module.

Limits: the addon moves billing and creates new accounts; it does not copy data between servers. Clean up never touches invoices that carry a payment or credit, or upgrade invoices customers still need to pay. Deactivating the addon keeps all its data.

It costs $129 once for a lifetime license with twelve months of updates and support, an instant download and license key, and a seven-day refund window.

Frequently asked questions

Does the addon touch the old server when a customer switches?

<p>No. It sets the old service to Canceled or Terminated in WHMCS only, as you choose in the settings, and cancels its unpaid invoices if that option is on. Nothing is sent to the old server, so you can switch it off on your own schedule.</p>

What if a customer still owes money on the old service?

<p>Customers who are not paid up get a paid offer: they pay the first period of the new service by invoice, and it starts when that invoice is paid. When you are ready, the Clean up tab can cancel or delete old unpaid invoices. Invoices with any payment or credit on them are left alone.</p>

Can I start the new service for a customer myself?

<p>Yes. On the Customers tab each open offer has a button to start it now, or to send the invoice if it is a paid offer. You can also make selected offers free or paid, recalculate them from the settings, withdraw them or reopen them in bulk.</p>
