Discord Bot and Role Sync for WHMCS

Give paying customers Discord roles that match their WHMCS products, and let them check billing and tickets with slash commands.

WHMCS 8.13 tested PHP 8.1+

How does Discord role sync work with WHMCS?

You map a WHMCS product to a Discord role, and the bot gives that role to the customer when the product is active and takes it away when it is not. Roles are re-checked each time a payment clears or a service is suspended or terminated. Pair it with Discord's channel permissions and you have paid-only channels that open the moment an invoice is paid.

A product can also carry an invite to a private Discord server, so the buyer is invited automatically after purchase. Customers link their Discord account once, using a one-time code from the WHMCS client area.

What else does the bot do?

  • Slash commands for customers: /invoices, /services, /tickets, /renew, /support
  • Embedded cards for invoices and services, with buttons to act on them
  • Direct messages when an invoice is overdue or a suspension is near
  • Admin alerts in chosen channels for orders, tickets, abuse and failed payments
  • Command permissions set per role
  • One bot serving several Discord servers, each with its own role map

Who is this bot for?

Businesses that already run a Discord community around their product: game server hosts, software and plugin sellers, membership groups and SaaS teams. It suits anyone selling tiers such as Premium, Pro or Enterprise who wants the Discord role to reflect what the customer actually pays for, without staff checking WHMCS and changing roles by hand.

What do you need, and what are the limits?

Requirements: WHMCS 8.13 (tested), PHP 8.1 or newer, a Discord application with its bot token and client ID, and an HTTPS URL for Discord's interactions endpoint. You create the application, paste the token and client ID into the module, and invite the bot to your server.

The bot is stateless: it answers Discord's HTTP interactions through WHMCS hooks, so there is no long-running process to keep alive. In the admin area you manage bot settings, the role-to-product map, channel routing and command permissions.

Limits: role sync only works for customers who have linked their Discord account. Channel access itself is controlled by the permissions you set in Discord; the bot assigns roles, it does not design your server.

Frequently asked questions

Can I restrict a Discord channel to paying customers?

<p>Yes. Link a WHMCS product to a Discord role, then use Discord's channel permissions so only that role can see the channel. The bot adds the role when the customer pays and removes it on cancellation, so access opens and closes with the subscription.</p>

Does the bot need a server running all the time?

<p>No. Discord can deliver interactions over HTTP, so the bot works as stateless WHMCS hooks that respond to Discord's requests. You need an HTTPS address for the interactions endpoint, but there is no separate process to monitor or restart.</p>

Can one install serve several Discord servers?

<p>Yes. A single bot can run across multiple Discord servers, and each one keeps its own map of products to roles. That suits companies with separate communities for different brands or product lines, all billed from one WHMCS install.</p>
