Vultr Cloud Server Provisioning for WHMCS

Sell Vultr instances under your own brand: servers deploy on payment and customers run them from the WHMCS client area.

WHMCS 8.13 tested PHP 8.1+

How does Vultr reselling work through WHMCS?

You hold a Vultr account, Vultr bills you its wholesale rate, and you charge your customers your own retail price in WHMCS. Vultr is a cloud provider that rents virtual servers by the hour in data centers around the world. My module connects WHMCS to the Vultr v2 API, so when a customer pays, the instance is created in the plan, region and operating system they picked at checkout.

Suspension, termination and reactivation follow WHMCS billing status, so an unpaid server stops and a paid one comes back without you touching Vultr.

What can customers do from the client area?

  • Start, stop, restart and reinstall the server, and reset the root password
  • Open a VNC or noVNC console in the browser
  • Create, restore and delete snapshots
  • Edit reverse DNS (PTR) records
  • View bandwidth and CPU charts from the Vultr API

Everything sits on the WHMCS product details page, white-labeled. Customers do not see Vultr's logo or contact pages.

How much control do I keep over plans and regions?

You can map specific plans to each package or expose Vultr's whole catalog. Regions can be restricted per product, and the region picker respects those limits. Snapshots can be part of the plan or sold as an addon. The admin settings hold the API key, the sync controls, and your defaults for region and plan.

What do you need, and what happens if Vultr is down?

Requirements: WHMCS 8.13 (tested), PHP 8.1 or newer, a Vultr account with API access switched on, and outbound HTTPS from your WHMCS server to api.vultr.com. Setup is uploading the module, adding the API key, mapping plans and assigning them to a product.

The module handles Vultr's rate limits and retries failed calls. If the Vultr API is unavailable, provisioning jobs are queued with increasing delays between retries and admins are notified; customer pages stay readable while live action buttons are disabled for the moment.

Limits: you pay Vultr directly for every instance, and the module does not include any Vultr credit. It covers Vultr cloud instances only.

Frequently asked questions

Will my customers see that the servers come from Vultr?

<p>No. The server management screens are embedded in your WHMCS client area under your branding. Vultr acts as the upstream provider in the background, and customers never see its logo or contact pages. To them, the server, console and snapshots are part of your service.</p>

How do I set my own prices for Vultr servers?

<p>You set a retail price on each package in WHMCS, just like any other product. Vultr charges you its wholesale rate for the instance, and the difference between the two is your margin. You can sell snapshots inside the plan price or as a separate addon.</p>

What is in the open source license?

<p>The regular license costs $99 and is an encrypted, fully supported module. The open source license costs $299 and ships the PHP unencrypted, so you can change pricing logic, rewrite interface text or add your own hooks. Both include a year of support, with optional renewal at $49 per year.</p>
