Cloudflare DNS Automation Module for WHMCS
Creates Cloudflare zones as WHMCS services are set up, fills them from your DNS template, and changes records across many zones in one go.
What does the Cloudflare DNS automation module do?
It takes routine DNS work off your team. When a new hosting service or domain is set up in WHMCS, the module creates the zone in your Cloudflare account and adds the records that service needs, taken from a template you write once. From then on, customers see and edit their own records in the WHMCS client area, so small DNS changes stop arriving as support tickets.
Bulk changes are where it saves the most time. When a server moves to a new IP address, one bulk operation updates the record on every zone that points at it, instead of someone opening each zone in the Cloudflare dashboard and editing it by hand.
What is included?
| Area | What the module handles |
|---|---|
| Zones | Created in Cloudflare and kept under WHMCS control |
| Templates | A standard record set applied to each new zone |
| Provisioning | The records a new service needs, added for you |
| Client area | Customers view and edit their own DNS records |
| Cloudflare settings | Access to features such as SSL and caching |
| Accounts | More than one Cloudflare account on one WHMCS installation |
| Bulk operations | One change applied across many zones |
Who is it for?
Hosting companies, web agencies and domain resellers that already point customer domains at Cloudflare and set up the same records for nearly every new customer. If your staff copy the same A, MX and TXT records into each new zone, a template does that the same way every time, and nobody forgets the SPF record on a Friday afternoon.
Before you go live, decide what belongs in the default template. The records that point a domain at your web and mail servers are the usual starting set, so every new zone works from the first day and customers only edit what is specific to them. If you split customers across several Cloudflare accounts, you can connect all of them to the same WHMCS installation.
How is it different from your Cloudflare reseller module?
This module is about running DNS well: zone creation, record provisioning, templates, several accounts and bulk changes. My Cloudflare Zone and DNS Reseller module is for selling Cloudflare itself as a product, with plan upgrades billed through WHMCS, cache purging, page rules, WAF rules and white-label nameservers. If you want to sell Cloudflare plans, look at that one. If you want your own DNS work automated, start here.
What do you need, and what are the limits?
Requirements: WHMCS 8.13, PHP 8.1 or newer, and a Cloudflare account with API access.
Limits: which Cloudflare features a zone can use depends on that zone's Cloudflare plan, and Cloudflare's own terms still apply to every zone. The module does not bill customers for Cloudflare plans or manage page rules and firewall rules; that is what the reseller module is for.
It costs $99 once for a lifetime license with twelve months of updates and support, an instant download and license key, and a seven-day refund window.

Frequently asked questions
Does the module create the Cloudflare zone by itself?

Yes. When a new service or domain is set up in WHMCS, the module creates the zone in Cloudflare and applies the records from your DNS template. You do not need to open the Cloudflare dashboard for new customers.

Can I change one record on many zones at once?

Yes. Bulk DNS operations apply a single change across many zones. The common case is a server that moves to a new IP address: you update the record once and every zone that points at that server follows.

Should I buy this or your Cloudflare reseller module?

Buy this one if you want your own DNS work automated: zones, templates, several accounts and bulk changes. Buy the Cloudflare Zone and DNS Reseller module if you want to sell Cloudflare plans to customers, with upgrade invoices, cache purging, page rules, WAF rules and white-label nameservers.
