IT and Development Services Delivery Module for WHMCS

Sell WHMCS, WordPress, server and custom development work as WHMCS products, with an encrypted access form and a project dashboard per order.

WHMCS 8.x (confirmed at purchase) PHP 7.4+ with OpenSSL

What does the services delivery module do?

It turns a WHMCS product into a service project. You pick the service type on the product, such as a WHMCS migration, a WordPress speed job, a cPanel server setup or a Laravel build, and set the hours included, the estimated delivery in days and the number of revisions. When the order is activated, the module opens a project for it with a starting checklist for that kind of work, so nobody has to set up a board or a spreadsheet by hand.

The customer sees the project on their service page in the client area: progress, status, messages, an activity timeline, files, requirements and, for hour packages, hours used and hours remaining. The first thing it asks for is access, through a form for website admin, FTP, cPanel, SSH and database logins. Every password in it is encrypted with AES-256 before it is stored.

What is included?

AreaWhat it covers
Service types58 types in six groups: WHMCS, WordPress, server management, hour packages, websites and custom development
Access formWebsite admin, FTP, cPanel, SSH and database logins, with passwords encrypted using AES-256
Project toolsChecklist, tasks and issues, requirements, messages and file sharing
Work logHours per entry, visible to the customer or kept internal, exported to CSV
Hour packages10, 20, 50 or 100 hours that count down as you log work and top up on renewal
StatusPending, in progress, on hold, completed or canceled, with low to urgent priority
EmailsProject update with status and progress, and project completed

How does it follow WHMCS billing?

The project moves with the service. Suspending the service puts the project on hold, unsuspending puts it back in progress, and terminating marks it canceled. When an hour package renews, its hours are added to the balance and a note appears in the work log. A package upgrade sets the balance to the new package's hours. On the admin side you also get Mark Complete, Reset Progress and Send Update Email buttons on the service page.

Who is it for?

Freelancers, agencies and hosts who sell technical work next to hosting and want it billed and tracked in the same place. It suits service catalogs with many fixed-scope jobs and prepaid support hours, where the slow part is usually chasing customers for logins and keeping them informed.

What do you need, and what is outside its scope?

Requirements: WHMCS 8 (exact version confirmed at purchase) and PHP 7.4 or newer with the OpenSSL extension. Files are stored in the module's uploads folder, which is closed to direct web access; uploads are limited to 50 MB and to common document, image and archive types.

Limits: the module tracks and bills the work but does not do it, and it does not log in to customer sites or servers. It does not create invoices from logged hours; billing stays with the WHMCS product and its renewals. If you need proposals, a kanban pipeline or profit reports, my agency operations module covers that.

It costs $129 once for a lifetime license with twelve months of updates and support, an instant download and license key, and a seven-day refund window.

Frequently asked questions

How are customer passwords and server logins stored?

<p>Each password from the access form is encrypted with AES-256-CBC before it reaches the database, using a key derived from your WHMCS installation; usernames and hostnames are stored as plain text. Staff see the decrypted passwords on the service page in the admin area. Customers can update their details at any time from the same form.</p>

How do prepaid hour packages work?

<p>Choose a 10, 20, 50 or 100 hour package as the service type. The project starts with that many hours, and each work log entry you add takes its hours off the balance. When the package renews, the hours are added again and the work log notes it, so the customer can see what they have left.</p>

Can I use it for services that are not on the built-in list?

<p>Yes. The list includes custom development types such as PHP, Laravel, Node.js, Python, API and SaaS work, and every project still gets the checklist, messages, files and work log. If you need different service names or checklist steps, they are defined in one place in the module file.</p>
