Payment Method Discount Addon for WHMCS
Gives customers a percentage off an invoice when they pay with a gateway you choose, such as bank transfer, and removes it if they switch.
What does the payment method discount do?
Card and wallet fees take a real share of small invoices, and many hosts would rather be paid by bank transfer or another low-cost method. This addon lets you reward that choice. You set one discount percentage and tick the gateways that qualify. When an unpaid invoice uses one of those gateways, the addon adds a negative line called "Discount Applied" with the percentage in brackets, so the customer sees exactly what they saved.
It checks at two moments: when the invoice is created, and each time the customer opens it in the client area. If the customer switches the invoice to a gateway that does not qualify, the discount line is removed and the total recalculated. Switch back and the discount returns. The page reloads once so the new total shows straight away.
What is included?
| Setting or check | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enable discount | Master switch for the whole feature |
| Discount percentage | One rate for all qualifying gateways, for example 5 or 20 |
| Gateway list | A checkbox for every active gateway in your WHMCS |
| Invoice check | Discount added on creation and on each client view while the invoice is unpaid |
| Duplicate guard | Only one discount line per invoice |
| Logging | Every apply, skip and removal written to the WHMCS activity log |
Who should use it?
It suits hosting companies and service businesses billing through WHMCS that pay noticeable fees on card or PayPal payments and want a fair nudge toward cheaper methods. It also helps when you add a new gateway, such as a local bank option or crypto, and want customers to try it without running a coupon campaign.
Why a discount line instead of a coupon?
A coupon has to be shared, entered and checked, and it applies at order time only. The discount line follows the payment method on each invoice, including renewals, and nobody has to remember a code. Because the line is named and shows the rate, customers and your accounts team can both see why the total changed.
What do you need, and what are the limits?
Requirements: WHMCS 8.x and PHP 7.4 or newer. Nothing changes in the gateways themselves; you only pick them in the addon settings.
Limits: the discount is a single percentage of the invoice total. There are no separate rates per gateway, fixed amounts or per-product rules. The discount line is not taxed. Once an invoice is paid, the addon leaves it alone. Deactivating the addon removes the discount lines it created, so keep it active once you rely on it.
It costs $29 once for a lifetime license with twelve months of updates and support, an instant download and license key, and a seven-day refund window.

Frequently asked questions
Can I give a different discount for each gateway?
<p>No. One percentage applies to every gateway you tick. If you need a separate rate per gateway or per product, ask me before you buy and I will tell you what that change involves.</p>
What happens if the customer changes the payment method on the invoice?
<p>When the invoice reloads with the new method, the addon checks it again. If the new gateway does not qualify, the discount line is removed and the total recalculated. If it does qualify, the line is added. The customer sees the updated total immediately.</p>
Does it work on renewal invoices as well as new orders?
<p>Yes. The addon checks every unpaid invoice when it is created, including the renewal invoices WHMCS generates, using the payment method stored on the invoice. It checks again whenever the customer opens the invoice.</p>
