Low Credit Balance Email Alerts for WHMCS
Emails clients when their WHMCS account credit falls below a threshold they choose, so prepaid balances get topped up before renewals fail.
What does the low balance alert addon do?
It watches the account credit balance of each WHMCS client and sends an email when it falls below that client's threshold. The email shows the current balance next to the threshold, has an Add Funds button that opens the WHMCS top-up page, and links to the page where the client can change or turn off the alerts.
Clients control it themselves. A Credit Alerts item is added to the Account menu in the client area. There they see their current balance and whether it is above or below their threshold, switch alerts on or off, set their own threshold amount, and look back at their last five alerts.
When does it check balances?
On the WHMCS daily cron, on the hourly cron for clients already below their threshold, and straight after events that change a balance: credit added or removed, an invoice created or paid, a transaction recorded or a client profile saved. A repeat interval, 48 hours by default, stops the same client getting an alert on every check while their balance stays low.
What is included?

Who is it for?
Hosting companies, VPS and cloud resellers, and any WHMCS business where clients keep a prepaid balance that renewals draw from. When that balance runs dry, the next renewal is not covered and the service can end up suspended. A timely alert gives the client a chance to top up first, and it spares your support desk the conversations that follow a surprise suspension.
What do you need, and what are the limits?
Requirements: WHMCS 8.x (I confirm the exact version with you at purchase), PHP 7.4 or newer, and the standard WHMCS cron running. On activation the addon creates its two tables and the email template. Deactivating it keeps client preferences and alert history in place.
Limits: alerts go by email only. Clients who have not set a threshold use the default you choose in the settings. The client area page, admin page and email show amounts with a dollar sign, which suits businesses that bill in dollars.
It costs $29 once for a lifetime license with twelve months of updates and support, an instant download and license key, and a seven-day refund window.

Frequently asked questions
Can each client choose their own alert amount?

Yes. Clients open Credit Alerts from the Account menu, turn alerts on or off and set the balance that should trigger an email. The amount has to be above zero. Clients who never set one use the default threshold from the addon settings, and you can choose whether alerts start switched on for everyone.

How often will a client be emailed while their balance stays low?

No more than once per repeat interval, which is 48 hours by default and set in hours in the addon settings. The addon checks the date of the client's last alert before sending another one, so the hourly and event checks do not flood their inbox.

Can I limit alerts to clients on certain products?

Yes. Enter a comma-separated list of product IDs in the settings, and only clients with at least one active service on those products receive alerts. Leave the field empty to include every client.
