About this package
This package adds usage-based billing to a SaaS, API, telecom or cloud service that charges for what customers consume, such as API calls, gigabytes stored, call minutes or active seats: usage comes in, rating rules turn it into money, and you see an invoice preview before anyone is charged. It works with a custom billing system or an existing Laravel app, and with any gateway, which is the difference from the Laravel Stripe Billing package, where metered usage is reported to Stripe and Stripe does the pricing.
From raw events to an invoice line
Usage arrives as a CSV upload or through an API endpoint your app calls. Each record carries an event ID, so a file sent twice or a retried request is counted once. At period close, the rating step groups usage per customer and metric, applies the price rules and writes invoice lines such as "48,200 API calls above the included 25,000".
- Starter rates one metric at a flat price per unit.
- Business adds tiered and volume pricing, included allowances with overage, and contract prices for individual customers.
- Premium adds prepaid credits, minimum monthly commitments and re-rating of a closed period when a price was set wrong.
Checking the numbers before customers do
The preview shows each customer's draft invoice with the usage behind every line, so finance can spot a spike before it becomes a dispute. Customers see their running usage in the portal, and on Business they get an email when they pass thresholds you set, which is kinder than a surprise bill.
Where the limits are
The quality of the bill depends on the quality of the usage data. I build the import, validation and rating; producing accurate usage in your app or network stays with your team, and I flag gaps I find in the samples you send.

I have built websites, WHMCS modules and web apps for clients since before AI coding tools existed. Today I build with AI-assisted tools and review every change myself, which is why fixed prices here are lower than an agency's for the same scope. I work while the US, Canada and Australia sleep, so each morning there is progress on your staging link.

Questions about this package
What happens if usage arrives late or twice?
Each usage record carries an ID, so a duplicate is ignored and logged rather than charged. Late records for a closed period go into a review list; you choose to bill them on the next invoice or drop them. On Premium the closed period can also be re-rated and a correcting credit note issued.
How do you prove the rating rules are correct?
I turn the invoices you calculated by hand into automated tests, and the rating code must produce the same totals before launch. Every rule change after launch runs against those tests again, so a new tier or price cannot quietly change older contracts.
Can I offer a free allowance and charge only for overage?
Yes, on Business and Premium. Each plan gets an included amount per metric, such as 10,000 calls or 50 GB, and only usage above it is rated. Allowances can reset monthly or roll over if your terms say so, and the invoice shows both the included and the billable amount.
How ordering a package works
-
1
Choose a plan
Pick Starter, Business or Premium and pay once by card, PayPal or crypto. The price on the page is the price.
-
2
Send your content
A project opens for your order. Send your text, logo, photos and any logins I need there.
-
3
I build it
I build on a private staging link you can open on your phone, with updates as I go.
-
4
Launch and handover
After your approval the site goes live on your domain, and every login is yours.
One-time price, no monthly fee from me
You pay for the build once. Your domain and hosting are registered in your name and renewed with your hosting provider, who bills you directly. I add nothing on top, and the site keeps running whether or not you hire me again.
What I do not build
Gambling and adult websites, and sites that sell content without the rights to it. Need something not listed? Ask for a custom quote.
