About this package
This package migrates WHMCS to a new server, or brings your clients, services and invoices into WHMCS from another billing platform, with everything tested on the new machine while the old one keeps billing until a short, planned cutover. It is for businesses moving to faster or cheaper infrastructure, leaving a host that is slow or closing, or switching from Blesta, ClientExec, HostBill or a spreadsheet.
A server move, step by step
It starts with an audit of your WHMCS and PHP versions, extensions, custom modules, hooks, gateways and cron schedule, so you see the risks before work begins. I prepare the new server with the right PHP version, ionCube Loader and database settings, copy files with rsync and the database with mysqldump --single-transaction, and compare table and row counts. configuration.php comes across with its $cc_encryption_hash, since encrypted fields cannot be read without it.
- Testing happens through a hosts-file entry, so real clients never see the test install.
- DNS TTL is lowered a few days ahead, so the switch spreads in minutes.
- At cutover I take a final dump, reissue the license for the new IP, recreate the cron and watch the first invoice run and payments.
Moving from another billing platform
Business imports clients, products, active services, domains and open invoices, then checks balances and next due dates on sample accounts, because wrong due dates make WHMCS bill early or never. Premium adds invoice and transaction history, ticket history where the old system exports it, and stored gateway tokens where the gateway allows them to move.
Good to know
The old server stays untouched as a fallback until you approve removing it. A license bought from the host you are leaving stays with that host, so you would need a new one. Cutovers run in your quietest night hours. The full method is on the WHMCS migration page.

I have built websites, WHMCS modules and web apps for clients since before AI coding tools existed. Today I build with AI-assisted tools and review every change myself, which is why fixed prices here are lower than an agency's for the same scope. I work while the US, Canada and Australia sleep, so each morning there is progress on your staging link.

Questions about this package
Will my third-party addons work on the new server?
Usually, but many encoded addons are licensed per IP or domain, just like WHMCS. I list every addon during the audit and tell you which vendors need a license reissue, so you can request it before cutover rather than discover it afterwards.
Can WHMCS keep the same address after the move?
Yes. Clients keep using the same billing URL; only the server behind it changes. The system URL in WHMCS stays the same, a new SSL certificate is issued on the new server, and the DNS switch at cutover points the address to it.
Do stored cards survive the move?
On a server move, yes: tokens held by gateways such as Stripe live at the gateway, and locally encrypted data stays readable because the encryption hash moves with configuration.php. From another platform, tokens move only where the gateway allows it, which is part of Premium.
How ordering a package works
-
1
Choose a plan
Pick Starter, Business or Premium and pay once by card, PayPal or crypto. The price on the page is the price.
-
2
Send your content
A project opens for your order. Send your text, logo, photos and any logins I need there.
-
3
I build it
I build on a private staging link you can open on your phone, with updates as I go.
-
4
Launch and handover
After your approval the site goes live on your domain, and every login is yours.
One-time price, no monthly fee from me
You pay for the build once. Your domain and hosting are registered in your name and renewed with your hosting provider, who bills you directly. I add nothing on top, and the site keeps running whether or not you hire me again.
What I do not build
Gambling and adult websites, and sites that sell content without the rights to it. Need something not listed? Ask for a custom quote.
