What makes a portfolio website work?
Selection and speed. A portfolio with twelve strong pieces says more than one with sixty mixed ones, and large images only impress if they open quickly on a phone. I build galleries that serve resized WebP images, keep the layout out of the way of the work, and give each project a short note on the brief and your role, so a client knows what they would be hiring you for.
Which package should you choose?
| You are | Start with | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| A designer, illustrator or photographer | Designer and photographer portfolio | Large image sequences per project |
| A developer or engineer | Developer portfolio | Project write-ups, code links and a static build |
| A coach or creator building a name | Personal brand website | Offers, call booking and an email list |
| An author, musician or speaker | Author, musician or media kit site | Books, releases or talks with press assets |
| Applying for jobs | Resume and CV website | A one-page CV with a matching PDF |
| Shooting weddings and events | Wedding photographer website | Story galleries and date inquiries |
What should you send before I start?
Send your strongest work in the highest resolution you have, a short bio, a headshot, links to your social profiles and the one action you want visitors to take, such as booking a call or buying a book. Only send work you have the right to show. For client projects under a nondisclosure agreement, a written case study without images often works.
Which costs are not in the plan price?
The plan price does not cover the domain and hosting, paid proofing services such as Pic-Time or ShootProof, email marketing subscriptions, or new photography and writing. I resize and arrange what you supply; I do not retouch photos. Payment processors charge their own fees on any sales you take through the site, and those fees are paid to them directly.
How ordering a package works
-
1
Choose a plan
Pick Starter, Business or Premium and pay once by card, PayPal or crypto. The price on the page is the price.
-
2
Send your content
A project opens for your order. Send your text, logo, photos and any logins I need there.
-
3
I build it
I build on a private staging link you can open on your phone, with updates as I go.
-
4
Launch and handover
After your approval the site goes live on your domain, and every login is yours.
One-time price, no monthly fee from me
You pay for the build once. Your domain and hosting are registered in your name and renewed with your hosting provider, who bills you directly. I add nothing on top, and the site keeps running whether or not you hire me again.
What I do not build
Gambling and adult websites, and sites that sell content without the rights to it. Need something not listed? Ask for a custom quote.
Questions about portfolio and personal brand websites
Can I add new work myself?
Yes. Adding a project means uploading images, writing a title and a short note, and picking a category. The site resizes images on upload, so a large camera file does not slow the page down. Business and Premium come with a short screen recording of the steps.
Should a portfolio be one page or several?
One page suits a resume site or a small body of work. Once you have more than about eight projects or more than one discipline, separate project pages let each piece be found in search and shared on its own link. Starter plans are one page or a few; Business adds project pages.
Can I sell prints, books or sessions from the site?
Yes, on Business or Premium depending on the package. I connect Stripe, PayPal or WooCommerce for direct sales, or link to Amazon, Bandcamp or your booking tool if you already sell there. Gateway fees and any print lab costs go straight to those companies, billed to you.
